IEEE
has started a new certification program to certify wireless engineers
and we are the first in Malaysia to offer training for this certification program.
Who is qualified to take the certification exam?
This
certification is meant for engineering practitioners who are
qualified, with a degree from an accredited college or university and
at least 3 years of graduate-level educational or professional
wireless communications engineering experience. Instead of having a
degree, candidates may be IEEE members and have at least 3 years of
graduate-level educational or professional wireless communication engineering experience.
A
person has the required level of professional experience when at
least 51% of daily activities are within the wireless communication
engineering function.

When is the exam, and what happens after it?
**
The first exam of its kind was by IEEE Communications Society
at Prometric exam centers around the world in September 2008.
Candidates
who pass the exam are issued with certificates attesting that they are qualified by IEEE
as certified Wireless Communications Professionals.
They may make public awareness of their credentialed status, e.g., through the use of the acronym
WCP – which stands for Wireless Communication Professional – after
their names.
